As a working mom, most of my time is spent rushing my kids to and from school, practices and events while juggling a full time job and horrendous commute through Downtown L.A. So when I can squeeze in some well-deserved "me time," I'm all too happy to do it and I never let myself feel guilty about it.
One of the ways I like to indulge is a visit to the spa for a relaxing treatment and Burke Williams is one of my favorite spa destinations because it's a one stop shop for luxurious pampering. When I heard a new location was opening in Woodland Hills in September, I was super excited and couldn't wait to check it out!
There are a few unique features at this Westfield Topanga Village location that set it apart from other Burke Williams spas. The first is that it is brighter than others I've visited. It's descried as being reminiscent of a Hamptons beach house and while I've not experienced said beach house first hand, I can attest that it's garden-like atmosphere is so relaxing and refreshing that it creates a sense of renewal and positive energy like none other.
Another unique feature here is Style, the blow dry bar, which is the service I enjoyed. I have to be completely honest- I wasn't really certain what to expect from a blow dry bar and was nervous about how straight they could get my 3C natural curls. However, my anxieties were quickly alleviated by the very sweet and super awesome Kiara. She was gentle and efficient and she used the most delicious-smelling products that had me taking notes and making a an impressive wish list. She was able to get my hair nearly bone straight in roughly one hour (any time I visit a salon I can expect to be there for no less than two hours). The best part? This amazing service in a beautiful setting was only $45!
I didn't get a chance to use the rest of the spa's amenities such as the Custom Blend Bar or mini services in the Garden Room but I was so happy with my initial visit that I've already booked my next appointment so I'll check those out on my next visit!
