A Work in Progress: Excuses, Excuses...

Truth be told, I love to work out.  It's the one time in the day when I'm not being asked to do something or having my space invaded.  I just turn on my iPod, tune out the world, and become one with the elliptical crosstrainer (my favorite).  For me, the hardest part of working out is getting to the gym.  I can think of a bajillion excuses for not going.  I'm tired.  I have a headache.  I don't like changing in the locker room.  Etc, etc, etc...

So what I have been doing is first bringing my gym clothes to work with me and changing before I leave the office.  This puts me in the mindset of automatically heading to the gym from work (do not pass go, do not collect $200) and prevents me from finding an excuse not to go.  Once I've got the gear on, game on!  It's working so far.

Having a workout partner also helps a lot.  My best friend and I are keeping eachother motivated and we have incentivized out workouts.  If we work out for at least 30 minutes per day we have agreed to treat ourselves to a massage at the end of the week.  There are these great $20 hour-long reflexology massage places springing up all over the place.  Cheaper than a pedicure and far more relaxing!  :)
I'd love to know what some of my reader's excuses for not working out are and solutions that keep them pushing on.  Please share and thanks for sticking with me!

xoxo,
Bree
